When Jesus died on the cross, religion died with him. As he rose from the dead, religion stayed in the grave. Jesus did not come to start a religion but to secure for us the grace necessary to be the end of religion. The church is not in the religion business; it is in the Gospel-proclaiming business. Religion gives us an unending list of rules that never quite seems possible to complete, but Jesus came to give us life and life to the fullest and freest. Perhaps our view of Christianity, Jesus, God, church and the Bible as a religion is not accurate. What does the Bible actually say about religion? It is dead! Join us as we journey through the book of Galatians.
Galatians 6:6 ESV
6 Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches.
Galatians 6:7 ESV
7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
15 Minutes per day x 365 Days = 91.5 hours of prayer
5 Minutes per day
1 Truth from Scripture x 365 days = 365 Truths of Scripture memorized
250 Words per minute x 15 Minutes per day = 5,475 Minutes per year
1.3 million words read / 350 Words per page = 3,910 pages / 20 Averages sized books per yr.
Galatians 6:8 ESV
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Galatians 6:9 ESV
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Quote: "We are naturally lazy in the duties of love, and many little stumbling blocks hinder and put off even the well-disposed. We meet with many unworthy, many ungrateful people. The vast number of the needy overwhelms us. We are drained by paying out on every side, and our warmth is damped by the coldness of others.” - John Calvin
Galatians 6:10 ESV
10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
