Advent: Name Above All Names - Week 4 - Savior

Advent: Name Above All Names

Speaker: Ty Neal
Date: December 18, 2016

He is known by many names - I Am, Second Adam, Son of David, Savior, and Immanuel - just to name a few. We simply call Him Jesus. Who is Jesus, and what's with all the additional names? There are no more important questions people can ask. Join us during this Advent season as we celebrate and focus our attention on the Name above all names, Jesus. Name Above All Names: Advent 2016 November 27th - December 24th.

Big Idea: Jesus saves

I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”

Luke 2:10-11

[10] And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

“The whole dance, or drama, or pattern of this three Personal life is to be played out in each one of us; or (putting it the other way round) each one of us has got to enter that pattern, take his place in the dance…. Good things as well as bad, you know, are caught by a kind of infection. If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire; if you want to be wet you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them…. If you are close to it, the spray will wet you: if you are not, you will remain dry.”—C.S. Lewis
