Manifesto (noun): a statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer.
Jesus came on a mission with a message of "Follow Me". He promises not only a new life, but a new way of living in the here and now. A life that transforms and transcends. Even so, we all have questions about the details of following him. How do I really follow Jesus everyday? How does following Jesus affect my relationships, my finances, my attitude, my fears - you know, all of life? Jesus had a lot to say in his famous Sermon on the Mount; on what it means to follow him in the here and now. Among Jesus' teaching, the Sermon on the Mount is perhaps the most beloved, the best known and the least understood. What does it mean to say "I follow Jesus?" Join us as we discover the life changing words of Jesus. January 5th - June 1st
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
