Everyone wants their life to "count." We want our lives to matter. Think about it; we make lots of sacrifices to make a living, pursue that significant other, potentially have some kids and make our mark in this life. There seems to be a lot of blood, sweat, and tears involved. But how do we measure our success? How can we know that we are living a life that will make a difference? What if all the "ladder climbing" we've done in life has been pointless because our ladder has been on the wrong wall? Good news for you, there is a way you can know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that your life can have significance! You can live a life worth living! How? Join us for our new series this January - Life Worth Living.
Sermon Title: Live ON Mission
John 10:10 - 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
2 Corinthians 5:17 - 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Live FOR Jesus
Live IN Community
John 20:21-22 - 21Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you." 22And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
Quote - “Jesus did not give a mission to his church; he formed a church for his mission.” Christopher Wright
Acts 1:8 - 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Acts 8:1-4 - 1And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him. 3But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. 4 Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 - 18All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:20 - 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Live ON Mission
Big Idea: Missionaries live on mission.
Quote - “If Jesus is precious to you, you will not be able to keep your good news to yourself. You will be whispering it into your child’s ear. You will be telling it to your husband. You will be earnestly imparting it to your friend. Without the charms of eloquence you will be more than eloquent: your heart will speak, and your eyes will flash as you talk of His sweet love. Every Christian here is either a missionary or an impostor. Recollect that. You either try to spread abroad the kingdom of Christ, or else you do not love Him at all. It cannot be that there is a high appreciation of Jesus and a totally silent tongue about Him.” Charles Spurgeon
Romans 10:14-15 - 14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
Psalm 34:8 - 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Romans 10:16 - 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?"
Romans 10:17 - 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Quote - "God wants your heart. He isn't looking just for "donors" for His kingdom, those who stand outside the cause and dispassionately consider acts of philanthropy. He's looking for disciples immersed in the causes they give to.” Randy Alcorn
Romans 10:14 Reminder
Acts 4:23-31- 23When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, "Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, 25who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,"'Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? 26 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against his Anointed'— 27for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. 29And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus." 31And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
