Title - Advent
Saved by God’s Grace
Titus 2:11 - 11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
Genesis 3:15- 15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”
Luke 2:10-11- 10And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Quote-Love God and do whatever you please: for the soul trained in love to God will do nothing to offend the One who is Beloved. Augustine
Trained by God’s Grace
Titus 2:12- 12training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
Quote-“[To have Faith in Christ] means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.” ? C.S. Lewis
End in God’s Glory
Titus 2:13-14- 13waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Quote "The first coming of Christ the Lord, God's son and our God, was in obscurity; the second will be in the sight of the whole world. When he came in obscurity no one recognized him but his own servants; when he comes openly he will be known by both good people and bad. When he came in obscurity, it was to be judged; when he comes openly it will be to judge." Augustine
Titus 2:15- 15Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
