Meet the Team

Elder Team

The consistent pattern throughout the New Testament is that each local body of believers is shepherded by a plurality of qualified, male pastors/elders. Simply stated, this is the only pattern for church leadership given in the New Testament. Pastors/elders are called to a number of specific duties, including: prayer and scripture study, caring for the people in the church, equipping the church to do ministry, giving an account to God for the church, living exemplary lives, preaching and teaching, praying for the sick, and teaching sound doctrine and refuting error. They are responsible for discerning God's vision and heart for the church and ensuring that we are obedient to it.

Elders are men who live according to the qualities that the Bible lays out. Among other things, they are husbands of one wife, gentle, above reproach, and have a good reputation with other people. (See 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 5:17; Titus 1:7-9; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13; Acts 20:17-38).

The elders at Grace Point Church are responsible to seek God's direction in all things, to instruct the members of the church in the truth, to protect the church against false teachings and doctrine, and to model and imitate the sacrificial love of Jesus.

What do you love most about your role at Grace Point Church?
I would have to say preaching. I love sharing God's Word in a way that is understandable to people all across the spiritual spectrum, from no church background to seasoned believer. It is exhilarating watching people have those "aha" moments when the Bible comes alive to them.

What is it that you love most about living in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas is the land of opportunities. There are so many opportunities to connect with so many people within this city from so many diverse backgrounds. Most people within this city are craving real, authentic community. One of my greatest goals is to help create community where it does not exist. The opportunities are endless!

What is it that you love most about your role at Grace Point Church?
I'm a numbers and structures guy so I absolutely love being able to look at our operation and try to find ways to make us more efficient in all that we do. I really thrive on developing a game plan and then executing it!

What is it that you love most about living in Las Vegas?
Just about 10 years in Las Vegas now and I love the amount of sunshine we get throughout the year. My memories of growing up in New York where it seemed to be overcast for 6 months of the year was depressing. I'm not a cold weather person by any means.

What do you love most about Grace Point Church?
The people of Grace Point are what I love most about our church. It is a blessing that I do not take for granted, to be able to gather with and live in community with each other.

What is it that you love most about living in Las Vegas?
I love that Las Vegas is a 24hr city. If you ever need to buy a replacement battery for your smoke detector at 3 a.m., that option is available for you. It is also amazing to see God working in this city. It still amazes me that people come to “Sin City” and find Jesus.

What do you love most about your role at Grace Point Church?
What I love most about my role as the Pastor of Discipleship is being around the people of Grace Point Church. I love that I have the opportunity to serve them, and help them grow in their love for Jesus and this city.

What do you love most about your role at Grace Point Church?
Leading and writing gospel-centered music to make disciples of Jesus! Teaching people about the richness of God's grace and leading them to adore Christ more and more are my biggest passions and music is one of many tools God has given to help accomplish that end.

What is it that you love most about living in Las Vegas?
The 8-9 months worth of beautiful weather and year-round outdoor activities like hiking, parks, and swimming.

Travis Fox
Pastor of Next Gen

Birthday: May 23rd

What do you love most about Grace Point Church?
I love Grace Point Church's passion for making much of Jesus in Las Vegas by sharing the message of Christ with words and actions. We are disciples who live in community for the community! Whenever I talk with people in our city about Grace Point they often respond with, "I've heard of that church." Many have heard of us because they either met or have been served by someone from Grace Point. Let's keep this up!

What is it that you love most about living in Las Vegas?
The people! In 2002, my wife and I moved to this city and immediately felt at home. We love Las Vegans and are excited to be a part of what God is doing through Grace Point to make Jesus known in Las Vegas. (Yet, my kids say they love going to the buffet the most!)

What do you love most about your role at Grace Point Church?
I love equipping families to be gospel-centered through living on mission. Jesus told us that when the Spirit came, the gospel would spread through ordinary families sharing the message of Jesus with neighbors through extraordinary power (Acts 1:8).
