These killers go by the names: Pride, Envy, Anger, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust. As a gang, they are known as the 7 Deadly Sins. Title Pride

QUOTE: “Be always at it while you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.” John Owen

Isaiah 14:13-14 13 You said in your heart,’I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’

James 4:6 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

*Proverbs 16:18*8 Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues with injustice.

“I’m better than you”

“I don’t need you”

“That doesn’t apply to me”

James 4:6 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

*James 4:7*7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:8-9 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.

QUOTE“Go and read the history of revivals again. Watch the individuals at the beginning. This is invariably the first thing that happens to them. They begin to see what a terrible, appalling thing sin is in the sight of God. They temporarily even forget the state of the Church, and forget their own anguish. It is the thought of sin in the sight of God. How terrible it must be. Never has there been a revival but that some of the people, especially at the beginning, have had such visions of the holiness of God, and the sinfulness of sin, that they have scarcely known what to do with themselves.” D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

James 4:10 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

QUOTE“Be always at it while you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.” John Owen

QUOTE Great are You, O Lord, and greatly to be praised; great is Your power, and of Your wisdom there is no end. And man, being a part of Your creation, desires to praise You, man, who bears about with him his mortality, the witness of his sin, even the witness that You “resist the proud,”— yet man, this part of Your creation, desires to praise You. You move us to delight in praising You; for You have formed us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in You. Augustine
