Easter 2016

Easter 2016

Speaker: Pastor Ty Neal
Date: March 27, 2016

Hope is an interesting word. We hope for all sorts of things in our lives. We hope our team wins, our jobs continue, our marriages survive and thrive, our kids remain safe. Honestly, we do a lot of hoping. When we start to look at hope, hope as we know it, we see that our hope at times is uncertain. What we hope for may never happen. The reality is, hope may remain elusive if it is not anchored in something beyond ourselves and our situations. Join us as we discover this Easter that Jesus lived, died, and now lives to secure for us, not wishful thinking, but a living hope that never fails.

Living Hope

1 Peter 1:3 ESV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Corinthians 15:19 ESV

19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

1 Peter 1:3 ESV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

QUOTE: "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. ... Now it seems to me obvious that He was neither a lunatic nor a fiend: and consequently, however strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that He was and is God.” C.S. Lewis

1 John 3:7 ESV

Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.

1 Peter 1:4 ESV

to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
